I have been teaching myself how to knit using a kit I got at Micheal's. It's been interesting and fun.

I would love to hear more about this. DD and I want to learn to knit.

Thanks.

January 3 to 17 goals
[ ] Finish half the scarf I'm working on. It's four sections so I need to get 2 sections done.
[X] Decide if I'm going to buy kitchen cotton on Ebay/order it. Done. I ordered sage green kitchen cotton to make dishcloths for gifts. I think sage green is easy for most kitchens I know if I want to gift them.

I had started the third section of my scarf and ended up ripping out the second section (crochet ladder stitch) and the six or seven rows of the third (crochet grit stitch which I love the look of). The ladder section (14 rows per section) didn't look right, sides didn't look even. It was a ton of work I ripped out because I'm a slow stitcher, but it looks much better since I've redone it. I'm 8 rows into ladder stitch. :)

So setback, but moving forward.

This week I want to sort out my craft stash, starting with knitting yarn and scrapbooking materials. I also want to make a few cards using scraps left over from scrapbooking.

I covered my Christmas notebook this week (pic on my blog) and I'm still working on my crochet scarf... it's about 3/4 done.

Dreamer and Happy2beme- A big goal of mine in 2010 is to learn how to knit.

I am left handed and that always seems to be a challenge.

When I took a chrochet class a couple years back the instructor had a hard time with me because everything she was doing was backwards for her. She had never taught a left hander before. It was a challenge but we worked together.

Dreamer- Do you think that book would be hard to follow for a leftie?

Hi Annie,

This book actually has directions for both Lefties and Righties :) It even has pictures for those of us that need them to understand what we're reading correctly lol

Love the Threads!

Yes, I get inspired from what everyone is working on!

{} finish the amigurumi crocheted cat toys I started for DN
{} look over my cotten yarn for making dish towels
{} Crochet Reading Wrap for me and step-ma for next Christmas

That's good for now. (smilie)

Few things for my list for 2010 crafts: (I will think of more)

1.) vanilla

2.) make the kids stockings. Have had the material for a few years. (my DS, DD and her BF)

3.) Decide on the gift for 12 Days of Christmas and make

4.) Decide on ornament for swap at MHH

5.) Start using up supplies in craft room

6.) Thinking of stuff for barbie dolls for 2 nieces for next Christmas. KimD (wonder where she has been) sent me some plastic canvas books last year on items for barbies but thought I would wait on a few of those pieces.

7.) Try the criss cross coasters

Out of the Blue

I started a Black Shrug for DD17 ... who'll be 18 by next Christmas. But it's a simple crochet pattern. :) So, I'll add to my list.

Great job! What color is it? I use Lion Brand site for FREE crochet patterns.
