Hope no one objects to my starting this new thread . . .

Aug. 2 - 8, 2021
Monday -- dinner out for DD's birthday
Tuesday -- spaghetti, salad, garlic bread stuffed peppers, salad (roadside farm stand, on the way home, purple peppers $0.25 each; want to use them before they get soft)
Wednesday -- cottage cheese and fruit plate with raisin toast
Thursday -- sauteed lake perch, roasted potatoes, cole slaw
Friday -- pizza, salad
Saturday -- grilled chicken, veggie skewers, salad [at dock]
Sunday -- burgers on grill, roasted potatoes, sliced tomatoes [at dock]

Monday-Ribs that did not get cooked Sunday with mashed potatoes and pea salad
Tuesdays-Vanessa says Bananas
Wednesday-Turkey, cheese and Cranberry Aioli on pita bread
Thursday-
Friday-Smoked Prime Rib if we figure out the smoker by then, stuffed mushrooms and salad
Saturday-
Sunday-French Dip Sandwiches if there is any leftover PB

It seems that DH has a plan and I wasn't privy to it so here's what we've had so far:

Sunday- Grilled Chicken with corn on the cob and potatoes
Monday- DH and I ate out at a local Mexican place
Tuesday- BFD- eggs, hashbrowns, bacon
Wednesday- Home Chef order will be delivered- BBQ Chicken Mini Flatbreads
Thursday- Home Chef meal- Acapulco Style Steak Quesadillas
Friday- Company will arrive and bring half baked pizzas from the U.P.
Saturday- TBD
Sunday- TBD

I'm going to try to post here this month. :)

I've cooked meals for 6 this week. However, not everyone has been home this week for dinner so we have a lot of leftovers. We will use those up on Friday and Saturday. I've moved my Friday meal to next week.

Sunday - Lasagna and Tossed Salad
Monday - Quinoa Salad with Cucumbers and Tomatoes
Tuesday - Chili Con Carne with home made tortilla chips
Wednesday - Lentil Salad with Grapes
Thursday - Pasta Salad with Peas and Ham
Friday - Leftovers
Saturday - Leftovers

Some interesting menus here.

Sunday, French toast (raisin bread) with mixed berries and maple syrup.
Monday, Chicken kiev with mashed potato and mixed vegetables.
Tuesday, crumbed fish with vegetables,
Wednesday, Tacos with avocado, spinach, tomatoes, red onions, corn and sour cream.
Thursday, Lasagne with garlic bread and salad,
Friday, Chicken pot pie with extra veggies,
Saturday, leftovers.

Ooooo, it all sounds yummy!

Tonight, Thurs: Leftovers of ham sandwhiches, carrot sticks, applesauce
Fri: Pizza Night, salad
Sat: Chicken Nuggets, Aldi's Mustard Potato Salad
Sun: DH's Ma's Pizza Casserole (I make double in a 13x9) (The recipe is written in her own handwriting for DH when he was young and moved out! She didn't want him to starve! LOL He still has and I still use the 1974 looking index card recipe box!)
Mon: Taco Night
Tues: Leftover Pizza Casserole
Wed: Taquitos, Chips & Salsa
Thurs: Salsbury Steak, rice, mixed vegs

We have been enjoying Sat morn Pancakes, Sausage Patty, and Fried Eggs. On Sun morn it's Grilled Ham and Cheese Fried Egg Sandwhiches with potato hashbrowns.

By the time we eat those ... we only then eat dinner later on the weekends. Don't need lunch! LOL

4DDF6A8C-C974-41E6-ACBF-56BB77365D7F.jpeg :p Yum!! I started the meat (ground Turkey and sausage), onion, and garlic. Instead of milk, I used tomato juice. I also puréed cooked sweet potato in that tomato juice … just because I had them and it adds some hidden veggies. (DH) I added the sauce to the meat and put in frig. On Sunday, I will get this out and layer noodles and sauce in 13x9 pan.

I remember I was going to cook something tonight but only remember now that I was going to serve french fries with it. Wonder if I could say we are having nacho fries and just toss some cheese on top. lol

Maybe fry some shrimp and scallops and toss old bay on the fries. With sliced tomatoes. Now where is that butler I always wanted……

Last week was a bust. I did a menu plan and tossed it out the window early-early morning (like 12:35 AM) on Monday. So, I'm simply re-purposing last week's menu (that never got posted) and adjusting it for a new week.

Aug. 15 - 22, 2021
Sunday -- burgers on the grill, potato salad
Monday -- lasagna, salad, garlic bread
Tuesday -- dinner with Widows group
Wednesday -- stuffed pepper, bean salad
Thursday -- late lunch with BH/St Joe Memories group; will have something light for dinner, i.e. veggies, salad, fruit, or similar
Friday -- pizza, salad
Saturday -- grilled chicken, veggie skewers, salad [at dock] OR dinner with sister & family
Sunday -- hot dogs on grill, roasted potatoes, sliced tomatoes [at dock] OR dinner with sister & family

My menu is very dependent upon the heat, so plan may change ;)

Monday: Potato Salad and a green salad topped with leftover steak from tonight's dinner
Tuesday: Taco Night
Wednesday: Chicken Curry and Rice
Thursday: BBQ Turkey Burgers and green salad
Friday: Chicken Teriyaki and Rice Noodles
Saturday: BBQ Turkey Franks and fresh fruit salad
Sunday: Sweet Potato Soup and cornbread

  • Friday ~ Sausalito Sandwiches (with more leftover chicken)

May I ask what this is?
Savory mince is ground beef that is cooked with peas, corn, carrots, onions (whatever you like really) added to it. It is then flavoured with gravox gravy powder (not sure if you have that) that thickens it and it becomes like a meat pie/shepherds pie filling. We serve it sometimes on toast or as as dish with mashed potatoes and extra veggies. I will try and find out what your version of gravox might be.
