Our holiday house in North Idaho
I would love to learn to knit, the college center has classes in the fall, we will see how this year goes! Also have a few projects would like to complete, have gotten out of crafting the last few years, farming has taken up my time, hoping to get back into my crafts, I have missed them...

My On Going List ...

... for 2012. Made from items I liked doing last year and of course ... the things I didn't finish for this year!

Can't wait to start Lana.

Cool stuff, sierra_mtns
halimer, I like the "manly" fingerless glove idea! Men are hard to craft for!
Is Deramores.com better than any U.S. yarn store, wadeallie? I haven't done online yarn shopping.
carol1231, Joanne's is FUN!
A friend showed my how to knit, AnnieClaus. I made a dish rag. Nice and simple. I crochet, though, mostly. Got a book in 1982 and taught myself back then. But you never know if some sweet person at work or church or something could be a one-on-one instructor! I found this at Lion Brand yarn:
Learn to Knit: Left-handed Knitting
Like writing, knitting moves in one direction from left to right. Knitting uses both hands about equally, making it neither left nor right handed. Many left handers find that learning continental knitting (where the yarn is held in the left hand and is 'picked') is easier than the 'English' style where the yarn is held in the right hand and 'thrown'.

Over on HGTV forum on teh quilting needlework thread they have Friday night pj sewing parties they call them. This Friday night is a fleece scarf. Starts at 7 central time. I think it is a piece of fleece 9"x 58" or something like that. I might try one. Would be nice gifts. It is one that is circled around your neck.

Fluttering happily in the clouds!!
I also have a long list for this year. Lots of UFOs to finish, and lots of projects in my head to make. Some gifts, some home furnishings, and PJs for DD and Nephew. Oh, and I was asked over the weekend to knit another cotton hat for nephew who is allergic to other materials.

I noticed, while we were out on a post-Christmas walk, that there is a silk shop locally that offers sewing classes. So I might try to get a few lessons so that I can do things properly (like setting up the machine completely properly, and finishing things, mainly).

But I have to set aside time regularly or I will never get through my plans.

Kim D you & your family will be in my prayers

I literally finished all my Christmas Crocheting yesterday!!! (and delivered the last item to my extremely patient neice (she's only 8).

I am making "kits" of the items I want to make for next Christmas season for craft shows and gifts. I am also starting to make a few things for my boys' teachers for valentines day (both loved the crocheted snowflakes I made for them)
