Hmmm...it's a close race between Charlie Brown Christmas and Christmas Vacation. Can I have two?

On a serious note...Charlie Brown Christmas when he stops and actually tells the true meaning of Christmas because I think we all have a tendency to get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas and thinking everything has to be "just so." It always reminds me to think about the fact that Christmas is about Jesus' birth, first and foremost.

But, on a lighter note. I love when Clark cuts the ropes off the tree in Christmas Vacation and WHOOSH! The tree knocks the windows out of the house. I am notorious for getting huge trees...too big for the house really! My kids always say, "There's Mama and her tree! She always plcks the biggest one out there!" Then they proceed to tell about all the huge trees...and which one they think was the biggest. Lots of laughs!

MissJane I love that moment in Christmas vacation too!

I'd have to say in 'you've got mail', when Meg Ryan is hanging ornaments in the tree in the window and reminiscing about her mom. - I love that part!

There is also in 'Elf' when people start singing and Santa can fly again because of the Christmas spirit - I get tears in my eyes every time :)

Ontario Canada eh!
my all time favorite is the story about Virgina O'Hanlon, who worried about believing in Santa Claus as her friends teased her about it. The struggle her family had to make a life for themselves in a new country and the magic of Christmas. One little girls letter touched many lives and continues to do so.
For me it is a reminder that what we see is not all there is. So much is "magical" and we cannot see with our physical eyes. Even when life gets rough, there is someone looking after us, we just need to believe!

"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old.
"Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.
"Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.'
"Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus?

"VIRGINIA O'HANLON.
"115 WEST NINETY-FIFTH STREET."

VIRGINIA, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except [what] they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

Those are some good ones. may need to think some..

Lucie-that part gets me every time also in Elf.

I like it in White Christmas when they have all the soldiers from their troop line up and the General come in and they all salute him. Brings tears to my eyes also. Then at the end when they open the big barn doors and it's snowing. :)

Mine is How The Grinch Stole Christmas and my favorite scene is when his heart that was 2 sizes to small grows and he "gives Christmas back" to the Who's.

Charlie Brown Christmas is my absolute favorite and I could watch it a thousand times over. My favorite part is when Linus tells the story (although i'm not religious at all), it's just such a special moment.

I love the part in Miracle on 34th Street when Santa speaks in Dutch to the little orphaned girl whose adoptive mother has brought her to Macy's to see him. The delight of the mother and daughter and the amazement of Natalie Wood (who is watching nearby) get me every time.

Oh, my goodness! Jess...you're right. It was Linus, not Charlie Brown, who tells the Christmas story.

My favorite is A Christmas Story. I really like the whole thing, but if I had to pick a favorite scene it would be where Ralphie goes out to help his father change the tire and drops the lug nuts.

When my youngest was 3 he went through a phase with that movie. He called it the OOOOHHH FUUUUUDDDGGGEE!! movie. We watched it so many times; and he would rewind to that part over and over again. Then he would say the line, but I didn't say fudge in his garbled 3 yo old dialect; sounding like he had a mouthfull of marbles. Still gets me to laughing every time I think of it. I make fudge and Chinese food every December when we watch this movie.

I love the Linus part in the Charlie brown movie. I have a stuffed Linus that says the speech. I have to keep it high up so Snoopy doesn't run off w/ it.

I have to agree - that whole scene is really heartwarming - I'm a sucker for anything where there are uniforms!

I also really enjoyed the scene in The Santa Clause 2 when Tim Allen throws a Secret Santa for all the faculty and the adults receive the gifts they loved as children. I actually hunted down a few toys from my childhood and I know what wonderful memories are associated with things like that.

I love Rudolph and Charlie Brown but one of the most heart wrenching scenes I've watched is the one in the Muppet Christmas Movie where Scrooges girlfriend is singing to him and tells him goodbye. We had company one time for christmas who watched it with us and everyone looked like they were ready to cry. Tiny Tim scenes are also good in that one. You forget that it's muppets you're watching.

I love the scene in The Santa Clause where Scott is in the park and the children line up to sit on his knee and tell him what they'd like for Christmas.

Hey everyone!

I'm not sure if I'm too late, but anyway...

My favourite is the scene in The Nightmare Before Christmas when Jack Skellington discovers Christmas Town - love the music!!
