Pork and kraut is in the crockpot! Dinner will be about 430. Come on over!
Do you do anything special to yours? We’ve always done just kraut and pork at home.

Well, my mother's mother was the one that would make this, so I'm not sure about "anything special". I also loved potato pancakes with cottage cheese and grape jelly and/or cottage cheese and applesauce. YUM

I like latkes with salt, butter, sour cream and applesauce or just lots of butter and salt. Never thought about before but crumbled bacon would be good. Might have this on the menu this week.

I am making Kaldolmar (stuffed cabbage leaves with hamburger) tonight.

@Ahorsesoul Kaldolmar sounds a little like the Polish dish in tomato sauce that that same grandma would make ... Golumpki - are Polish cabbage rolls stuffed with a mixture of beef, pork, rice, and seasoning.

If you don't want to make your own potato pancakes everyone agrees that Trader Joe's makes the best frozen ones.

We're looking at the freezer, too, to use up some meals we have in there. I don't want to run completely out, but will eat some of the older dishes and replace with fresher meals. What a good idea to bake bread! Maybe I'll do that on Friday to go with our planned clam chowder. Although our menu plan has already changed up quite a bit.

I went to take out some frozen vegan chili this morning for dinner tonight and couldn't find it. I was so sure we had some. When I asked DH about it, he said he had already taken it out and left it on the work bench in the garage (where the freezer is), and had forgotten to bring it in. Then we ended up changing our meal plan and will have some leftover tomato soup instead with sandwiches made with leftover meatloaf.
