Currently reading Masters of Terror by R George Clark.
This series involves a retired NYS Trooper turned PI that takes place in the area where I live/work. They involve terrorist-type plots. They are a quick read & pretty good.

I am supposed to be reading Night Road by Kristin Hannah. But ... Better World Books screwed up my order and, although I got 4 books in my shipment, they are not the 4 titles I ordered. Argh! Trying to sort through it with BWB (the first shipping error from them ever), but not sure I'll have time to finish my September book club book.

I just started Little Women.
I have wanted to re-read it for years now.
I will not be at my September book club meeting so took it as a chance to read something I want to!
Their book is American Dirt.

I've read American dirt. I wasn't aware of the controversy around it when I was reading it. I really liked that book (thought the ending was poor though). I learnt a lot from it as it made me research things from the book.

I'm currently reading There There by Tommy Orange. Learning a lot about Indigenous Americans, although its mostly sad :(

I just finished listening to ‘Emma’. Never read it before … loved the English accent … but whew … a lot of words and phrases from that period which is cool and fascinating but also … long. I listened a little while then I felt like my brain had a workout. LOL I had watched a Hallmark movie based on Jane Austin. She’s like a ghost.

Greenwich Park by Catherine Faulkner
Helen’s idyllic life—handsome architect husband, gorgeous Victorian house, and cherished baby on the way (after years of trying)—begins to change the day she attends her first prenatal class and meets Rachel, an unpredictable single mother-to-be. Rachel doesn’t seem very maternal: she smokes, drinks, and professes little interest in parenthood. Still, Helen is drawn to her. Maybe Rachel just needs a friend. And to be honest, Helen’s a bit lonely herself. At least Rachel is fun to be with. She makes Helen laugh, invites her confidences, and distracts her from her fears.

But her increasingly erratic behavior is unsettling. And Helen’s not the only one who’s noticed. Her friends and family begin to suspect that her strange new friend may be linked to their shared history in unexpected ways. When Rachel threatens to expose a past crime that could destroy all of their lives, it becomes clear that there are more than a few secrets laying beneath the broad-leaved trees and warm lamplight of Greenwich Park.

Whusky- I liked it. Interesting to read about other's lives.
I know the author got a lot of praise for it.
