Whusky- I liked it. Interesting to read about other's lives.
I know the author got a lot of praise for it.
For a minute there I thought you were referring to The Selfish Gene. I had to pause and think, "Damn, I literally understood NOTHING that Dawkins was saying" lol.
Yes, I do too. The author has a knack for being able to write from different perspectives. I think he writes women well.

Resurrection by Danielle Steel.
Quite predictable but an easy read.
I have hit my reading goal for this year.

Scratch that - I read the first 14 pages and quit. There's only so much drivel I can tolerate. Going to try Riley Sager's "Survive the Night"
Survive the Night was also rubbish (and reading the reviews after I have up makes me glad I didn't persevere). I've now started Macbeth, because surely the bard will not let me down?!

@halimer - did you say you used to be a librarian? Bit of an odd question, but hopefully it makes sense: did you develop a "sense" when it came to identifying bad books (or at least books you knew you wouldn't like)?

No I didn't. I basically know what I like - sf, history, historical novels and that's what I read.

But I do accept suggestions from other people and suggestions about books I should read. Many of those books are dumped after a chapter or two but basically "so many books, so little time..." is my mantra.
