got mine today. Need to decide if I want to try to read it now or wait till vacation, but that won't be for a week and 1/2. When did we want to consider a book chat? Rudy day 25th? end of the month? That may help me decide.

Shannon- Thanks for the reminder about the book- I need to get mine! Yikes!

Last year I posted discussion questions on the last day of CIJ.

I will do the same this year and maybe that would be a good day for a chat?

It will be a Sunday so may work out for a lot of people to join in.

Mine has been shipped so should be here soon.

Michelle wish I could send you mine when I am done. Not sure how much it would cost me to mail it across the water...

I can send you a copy, Michelle, send me your address to my private e-mail. If you can't find it here, you can find it through my blog.

Rudy Day works for me - I've got a busy weekend July 23-24 so I'll be having a relaxing day at home on the 25th. Would be lovely to chat then.

I wasn't sure if I was the right Michelle or if I missed something, but I've got my copy so I'm good. Maybe the other Michelle needs one. Thanks though! :)

My copy came last evening!

It's short! Should be an easy read!

I am also up for anything...

In the meantime, I thought it might be fun to list our "favorites":

Here are mine, in no particular order:
A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens (I reread it every year)
Skipping Christmas - John Grisham (better than the movie)
On Strike For Christmas - Sheila Roberts (gave it to all of my women friends!)
Best Christmas Pageant Ever - Barbara Robinson (still makes me laugh)
The Christmas Train - David Baldacci (a bit predictable, but entertaining)
The Autobiography of Santa Claus - Jeff Guinn (I love the whole series - think historical fiction)
Letters From Father Christmas - J.R.R. Tolkien (i found a beautiful old edition years ago)
Little Big Book of Christmas - Lena Tabori (I keep this by my chair during the season and randomly open to a page every day - LOVE IT!)
The Stupidest Angel - Christopher Moore (Absurd, but funny...not for everyone)
The Santaland Diaries/Holidays on Ice - David Sedaris (completely irreverent, some laugh out loud parts - reader discretion is advised!)

What are your favorites???

This is a great list, I'm saving it. I'll take a look at each book and then decide which books I'll read during December.

Did you decide when to schedule the book chat?

When does everyone want to chat? I know Rudy Day the 25th might be a good one. I am working and cannot facilitate it so who would like to? Those that come and decide when would be a good time for them to meet.

The 25th works for me. Are we looking at something like 9pm EST, 8pm CST, 7pm MST, 6pm PST? I've never facilitated a book discussion but I did find a discussion guide online so I'll be happy to if no-one else would rather do it.

maybe try starting a new thead and Title it "CiJ book chat" or something like that. You might get more replies.

I'm having a family dinner tomorrow and because of procrastination, I'll be a bit busy to do it tomorrow. But go ahead without me, I need to finish this week still and then I'll give some input. :)
